Dear BSCC Members,
If you're an autocross competitor and have wondered what it's like to step out onto a road course in a competitive environment, or if you’re a track lapping day enthusiast looking for a little something extra, here's your chance! On July 22nd, NWR-SCCA Time Trials will be hosting the final Club Trials event at Bremerton Motorsports Park that is scheduled for the 2006 season.
A Club Trials event provides a constructive learning environment that stresses proper driving techniques, while at the same time offering a timed, competitive event at higher speeds similar to those at track lapping days. Unlike the popular lapping day events, Club Trials are competition events with timing, scoring and awards. Like lapping days, driving instructors are available to assist you in driving to your fullest potential.
Talk to anyone that participated in the NWR SCCA Club Trials events in 2005 and I’m sure they will tell you about how much fun they had. The game plan is to make this last scheduled event of the 2006 season just as much fun (if not more) and enjoyable for everyone involved! One additional item that has been added to this event is an award to the car club that has the best turn out of its members.
Typically, SCCA Solo II car classes will be utilized for this event, with other classes being available. Vehicle safety requirements are those used in SCCA Solo II competition. Driving apparel needs to be long pants, long sleeved shirts (100% cotton recommended), and shoes that fully cover the foot at least to the ankle. Additionally, you must have a helmet that meets Snell M-95 requirements or better to go on track as helmets are not provided. The helmet may be open or full-face style.
Roll bars or cages will NOT be required in those cars prepared to Stock, Street Prepared, Street Touring or Street Mod specifications as found in the SCCA Solo II rules. Any car modified beyond any part of those rules or convertibles that do not have a factory hard top must be equipped with a roll bar minimum. This includes cars prepared to the Solo II classes of Prepared or Modified.
Due to event insurance requirements, entrants must be SCCA members. 90 day temporary SCCA memberships will be issued to all non-members free of charge. Should an individual decide within the 90 days to join the SCCA, they will receive a $15 discount on the first year membership dues.
Entry forms can be found on the NWR-SCCA website
