Seattle and the Puget Sound Region's
Most Popular Autocross Community

Every BSCC event, you'd find a food stall set up near the paddock providing affordable breakfast and lunch to hungry racers and spectators. Have you ever wondered who they are and why they're there? Are you aware that they're not a for-profit business, but are instead a charitable organization that serves the local community?

Here's some great information from them. Next time you see them around at the track or at any other event, remember to thank them for their service, even as you enjoy their great food!

"We’ve been a part of Lions Clubs International since 1967. Our motto is 'We Serve'.

Lions clubs are the largest service organization in world. Our main goal for the local community is to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids to those persons that find themselves in a position of being unable to afford them.

Sight and the prevention of blindness have been the primary goals of Lions Clubs International since it was created. These goals have expanded to include hearing, diabetes and projects to improve living conditions for many peoples of the world.

Locally, we raise money to support the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing. A Seattle based foundation that supports many of the lion’s sight and hearing projects. We raise money for local projects to pay for eye examinations and eyeglasses as well as occasional hearing aids. We provide help to the local food bank, sponsor kids to a camp for kids with diabetes, recycle eyeglasses and help out in many little ways.

We have sponsored a Lion’s screening van at a number of events, enabling us to discover potential diabetes, sight and hearing problems in the area youth and elderly.

Our mobile concession stand and sales of apples in the fall raise the majority of our project funds. We set up our concession during the Fathoms of Fun celebration, provide a Pancake Breakfast for the Chris Craft boater and public in July and food for those checking out all the Cars at the Cruz in August. Many of the summer weekends are spent providing food to the Sports car clubs, racing at the Bremerton Raceway. Those of us that work the concession are all volunteers, as a results, all money raised by the sale of our delicious burgers and hot dogs go right back into the local community."
