Club Operations
Keep in mind that no club runs itself, and ours is no exception. Unlike many larger organizations, we are run on a completely volunteer basis! Without the few dedicated individuals offering their personal time off the track, any fun organization like ours could not exist. Often club operations is a "behind the scenes" job, and goes unnoticed and un-thanked by a majority of members. However, these people have struggled and molded their personal lives around attending club, board, and autocross meetings for no benefit but the gratification that we as a club continue to exist.
Half of the eleven board members are elected by active club members in October of each year. Each board member can serve for up to two years before requiring re-election. The board oversees all club business and committees. A quorum is required at each meeting to vote on and accomplish tasks. Members who attend regular meetings help the board with decisions critical to the club. This is also where you as members can show your enthusiasm for the core BSCC, by attending the annual election process and guiding the club forward. Perhaps you yourself would like to step forward and join us!
Officers are elected by the board and are considered invaluable as well. They often spend extra hours working on the BSCC members behalf. Their job is to coordinate club operations as directed by the board and act as a representative to other organizations as required.
You are what it is all about. As a member, you are able to come and participate in any BSCC Event.
Also as members you also have a responsibility to help move us forward. As members, you can directly participate in BSCC by attending our regular meetings, and offering fresh ideas that you feel would improve how we work. If you would really like to sink your teeth into forming our future, be sure to attend, or perhaps volunteer to serve as a board member or officer.
Don't have time to attend every meeting? How about stepping up and offering to coordinate special events, like road rallies, banquet prep, or a club picnic? We are always looking for people of this caliber, as along with the Officers and Board, they are truly the heart that keeps the body known as BSCC alive.
Join us, won't you?
